Especially in Central London, the average cost of a student accomodation for a single person £600-700 but sharing rooms can be found for £900-1000 (£450-500 per person). Whereas, in East London, the price of accomodation drops in slightly. The single room can be found for around £400. Whereas, the sharing room can be found for £550-600 per month (£275-300 per month). Accomodation in other parts of London like West London, North London, South London can be found for around £450-500 per month for single person, whereas a sharing room can be found for around £350-400 per month.

The best way to find an accomodation in Central London is through the websites like Amberstudent.com, Spareroom.com, Gumtree.com. The best way to find an accomodation in other parts of  London is through the advertisement posters being displayed outside the station on the window of the shops. The list and types of rooms in different prices with the contact numbers of the owners of the house is being advertised on the window of the shop. Interested person can contact them and ask for the viewing. 




Guarantor  
Finding an accomodation for a new person can be difficult. Very few people will like to give a room to a new person. The Landlord may ask you for a guarantor. In such a situation it becomes really difficult for a new student to arrange a guarantor for himself. In those situation its recommended to spend their first few months in university accomodation so that after few months they will know somebody in the UK and  also would have gain trust of other people. But this situation is not so likely to arise.

The disadvantage of living into a university accomodation is the cost. It's cost can be really very high ranging from £200-300 per week. If you can afford it, then you should go for it. It's a spectacular part of a student's life.
