Struggles for new international students in UK

 Every new international students faces a lot of struggles in the UK. The first few months is the most struggling phase in the life of an international student. As an international student,    once you cross this phase, you will get a lot of rewards in your future.

Struggles can be related to find a job, finding an accomodation, classwork assessments, mental depression and anxiety, missing your home and family,  depressing weather etc. Once you find a job and an accomodation, more than half of your struggles will be gone. 

Living in an unknown country away from your families, friends, comfort zone can be very depressing. Apart from this, you will also have to work to earn your living expenses which is really very tough for a new person in an unknown country.









  


Major types of struggles faced by international students- 

Homesickness- Homesickness is the most common problem faced by new students in UK. Finding yourself alone in a new place can be very shocking. It gives a kind of mental shock so be very prepared for it. It's a very common thing but some students finds it really hard to tackle it. It might lead to mental depression and poor results in your grades.



Cultural Shock- Cultural shock is a very common thing faced by every people moving abroad. You will find changes in language, climate, people, lifestyle, foods etc. But you will get settled in it within few months. 


Different Types of Studies- The style of study in UK can be very different than your home country. You may have the habit of sitting in examination hall, writing your exams and passing it. In UK, most of the courses don't have any exams. The mode of teaching mainly depends on writing assessments and submitting it. For new students it can be very confusing. Students are advised to take it seriously. 


 

If students are aware with these difficulties, they can easy deal with them in a positive manner. Also they can enjoy their academics without feeling concerned about anything.
